Crab Rod is the first major upgrade, purchased from the Starter Island or SeaBreeze merchant with Cash from early fishing. Scorpio Rod follows as the mid-game powerhouse with fast reel speed for Sea Monster Raids and Epic fishing at Cape Town. The Crab Rod → Scorpio Rod jump delivers the largest mid-game efficiency spike.

Shark Rod is the best general-purpose late-game rod before Leviathan. Handles Legendary reel minigames during Cosmic Blessing reliably. Save Cash from Cape Town and Storm Harbor farming sessions to afford this upgrade. Leviathan Rod sits at the top with the highest luck and fastest reel speed, obtained through Leviathan Madness materials and raid drops.

Two stats define rod performance: luck (catch odds for higher rarities) and reel speed (minigame completion speed). Higher rarity fish require faster reel clicking to land successfully.
